Loving Vincent (2016) dir.Dorota Kobiela, Hugh Welchman

I can’t believe the community of love and self-growth I created on here a few years ago. This little space on the internet is literally why I am the way I am, why I’m happy, why I smile and would drop my own ass to get someone else to smile.

Welcome back! What are your thoughts on the new X Files?

I’ve been saying this every goddamn week since the episodes have started airing but I’ll say it again: I feel so goddamn privileged to be alive during the new season.

This show aired its first episode when I was only a few weeks old. It gathered such a large fanbase over its time on air and still continued to afterwards. It’s a phenomena how this series, something so quantifiable that we can trace back to the very day it first aired, has created such an impact on those who’ve watched it. Its legacy still baffles me.

I finally feel included whenever I watch. Because I finally understand that feeling. I understand what it’s like to hear the theme song pop up on your television screen after a grotesque death/glimpse of a mysterious entity. It’s different from watching it on Netflix or on DVDs, because it’s the first time it’s being shown anywhere and I’m here for that.

And it’s lovely, to feel unified with every fan of this series despite gaps in ages. Because the same way a fan in the 90s has watched one of the episodes when it first aired? I’m sharing that exact same moment with them with this new season.

Otherwise: it’s fucking lit. I can’t believe I’m alive to see Mulder and Scully navigate the bureaucratic bullshit of 2016 and adapt to new technologies and procedures and just finally watch in HIGH DEFINITION AND SEE THE HISTORY AND WEIGHT OF THEIR INFLUENCE ON EVERY TELEVISION SERIES THAT INVOLVES A SKEPTIC HALF AND FANTASTICALLY MORONIC HALF all through their age – through the lines above Mulder’s brows when he tilts his head down toward Scully, through the small brackets around Scully’s lips when they refrain from turning up at how innately idiotic and amusing Mulder’s theories are. I love the familiarity within them that’s aged.

it’s been 8 months since i’ve been on here and let me disclose some information: i’m still madly in love with cate blanchett

liking someone as tangible to you as wind is one of the most difficult things to comprehend

just when you think you’ve gotten used to their absence, the smallest current of their presence — brushing against your ear and the wisps of your hair for a split second — ends up lingering for eternities
